Ever since season 1 concluded, it aired 195 episodes.

The show thought it aired 260 new episodes. The evidence states it aired 195 for season 1 before season 2 debuted in September 1985 listing it as episode #261 instead of #196.

The changes to the show thus far (and its sister show)...

So far, I have been adapting to the changes both Jeopardy! and its sister show Wheel of Fortune have made.

For example, while the podiums for Jeopardy! have been spaced out, Wheel has extended them just a bit... for example, the red and blue podiums are widened, while the yellow podium stays the same length. To make sure everyone's safe, each uses a white tube to spin the wheel, and even Pat has his own; however, since he can't reach from his usual vantage point, he must step over to the red player's podium to make the Final Spin. For the Bonus Round, he stays 6 feet away from the contestant, who spins the Bonus Wheel without a tube; however, he himself handles the envelope.

And.... for those who are wondering... all audience applause is done by mac…

jeopardy tv stations

jeopardy    airs on 209 markets

acodring to mattcarberry

But it was noticing something about Las Vegas's data that triggered a deeper look. The show says it airs at 6:30 there, which would set it apart from every other market in the Pacific Time Zone by not airing at either 7:00 or 7:30. So I looked at TV listings for Vegas - and sure enough, you see J! at 7:00 on KLAS there. That triggered me to look at schedules for every single market. Fortunately, thanks to TitanTV and Zap2it, that's easier than one might think. For anyone interested: the list of ZIP Codes I used to accomplish this.

All but two U.S. TV markets have a local affiliate showing Jeopardy!; both of those two are among the smallest and don't have a full slate of Big Four netwo…

Celebrity contestant that answered multiple questions with "Tom Noone"?

Hi all, I'm trying to find the guest who was absolutely clueless and kept answering questions with "Tom Noone;" who I have no idea who that is. My friend and I still have an ongoing joke about it - this was between 2003-2006. I'm fairly certain he was a celebrity contestant playing for charity, and was pretty certain he was a member of the Beach Boys but didn't see any of them listed on the celebrity guest list.

In case that might jog a memory, the Beach Boys are:

  • Brian Wilson
  • Mike Love
  • Al Jardine
  • Bruce Johnston
  • Carl Wilson
  • Dennis Wilson
  • David Marks
  • Ricky Fataar
  • Blondie Chaplain

Any help would be greatly appreciated! I've scoured the ends of the web. Thanks!

Spin Off Titles

Jeopardy! has had a couple of Spin Off titles over the years. They both premiered in 1998. "Jep!" was a kids version of Jeopardy! with a bit a twist. 3 wrong responses will put you out of play for just 1 clue. "Rock & Roll Jeopardy!" plays the same rules but all the categories has to involve in music.

Jeopardy! Set Changes

The show has had many set changes over the years. Many sets would last for approximately 5-6 years. The reason for that is the crew probably wants to make updates for the Jeopardy! board, the podiums, etc. so that it reflects better.

Daily Double Backgrounds

The Daily Double Logos change each and every year just like the show's background & logo. For the 1st 2 seasons, the logo flashes whenever it's been uncovered. From Season 3 to the middle of season 8, the clue text zooms in to hide the daily double logo which stays in place. Since 1992, the daily double logo appears next to the player who uncovered it in the first place. But since 1986, the daily double logo spins vertically as it zooms in and continues to this day.

Jeopardy! Title Cards

Every year Jeopardy! changes the logo for each new season. In some seasons, there can be at least 2, 3, 4, 5, or 6 alternate logos while most seasons only have 1. The letters on the show's logo has to change to reflect the background. It can be black, white, gray, gold, yellow or even blue.
